Exploration of volume and texture. Somewhere inbetween a duvet and a wearable garment, this work explores the relation of 2D and 3D shapes.
The idea of the weight one has to carry is presented through characteristic attributes like shape, material and weight. The object, almost too heavy to carry for more than a few minutes, is imitating a big rock. Various sewing techniques and materials helped me achieving this look. Fabrics were coated, bleached or painted.

Milk and Honey

I made this work inspired by Gordon Matta-Clark’s “The Land of Milk & Honey”. Initiating a process, then stepping back to observing. The process and the material are controlling the outcome. This is the intruiging point I wanted to translate into a longsleeve.
Draped top. The sleeve aside, one continuous piece of fabric is closed with one single seam in the front. Previously multiple cycles of randomized bleaching and overdying were run on the sheet of various fabrics. The final result only appeared after draping the top using the manipulated fabric. Bleach screenprint based on shapes of cured honey agar mixture.   

Shoe making

Material and technical experiment. Three dimensional textile construction.
Upper part is constructed from felt and knit.
A two piece mould was created for the sole. The mould was made from wood
and 3D printed plastic. I then proceeded to pour PU plastic/rubber using the mould. 

Dirt Vest

(2022)

A vest made by combining latex rubber and soil.
Two modular moulds were used to create the needed
pattern pieces. Historical references can be found
throughout the look. Knitted Pants.

I like to venture into various different crafts. These are
some examples of products I made from metal and wood,
both sculptural objects and furniture I made out of
necessity.
